Kirk Westphal is the executive director of Neighborhood Institute, an educational 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Ann Arbor. The Institute’s vision is that everyone should be able to live and meet their daily needs in the neighborhood of their choice. A trained urban planner, Kirk has served in multiple civic roles over the past 17 years, including two terms on the Ann Arbor City Council and eight years on the Planning Commission. He lives in Ann Arbor with his wife Cynthia and two sons.
